Gift plans to match your goals
Thank you for considering a gift that will support the mission of Rohan Woods School for many years into the future. We know that if you make a contribution to our school, it will be because you believe, as we do, that these early years in students' lives are the most important in forming their educational success. But isn't it wonderful to know that there are so many ways that you can help these young minds receive an exemplary start while simultaneously gaining a benefit from your gift?
You may be surprised to learn that some of the best gift plans also improve the donor's financial and tax status.
Your Giving Options
The most common donations are outright gifts, such as cash or a check that we receive right away. But many times, people want to hold their money and assets for the present, just to be certain that they can meet their own future financial needs. Donors who find themselves in this situation are usually delighted to learn that excellent alternatives exist that allow them to make a gift and meet their planning needs as well. One of these options could be right for you, too!
These options are known as "planned" or "deferred" gifts. They can be revocable - a charitable bequest in your will, for example - about which you can change your mind at any time. Or, they can be irrevocable - just as outright gifts are - so that you can benefit from an immediate income tax deduction.
Irrevocable planned gifts are attractive because they are deferred, often until after your lifetime (and that of a surviving beneficiary, if you wish). Until that time, you receive benefits from the gift.
For example, if you were to create a charitable remainder trust with your assets and name Rohan Woods School as the beneficiary, you would receive lifetime income to augment your retirement savings or to help pay for your grandchild's tuition. At the end of the term of the trust, the school would receive the remainder of the trust. Or, you could deed the school a remainder interest in a vacation home and still retain the right to live in it for the duration of your life. There are some exciting ways to plan to meet your needs and goals while making a life-changing gift to Rohan Woods School!
