Within the close-knit community of Rohan Woods School, our youngest students (aged two to five) make up our Preschool Program.  Our children work with interest and focus, developing self-confidence, independence, and a life-long love of learning.  The classes that makeup the program begins with our Early Childhood class (2), Pre-Kindergarten (3), Junior Kindergarten (4) and Senior Kindergarten (5). 

Our program is centered around the natural curiosity that exists in children and builds on this intrigue with age-appropriate academics that encourage each student’s learning in a creative and supportive environment.  The academic component of our program combines small class sizes and outstanding educators in order to stimulate each student’s individual learning style and enrich their overall experience. 
In addition to the academic component, students are also given time in which to grow, be themselves and play.  Time spent in our large, shaded playground, outdoor Science garden and full-size gym helps to facilitate not only the development of gross-motor skills, but helps to facilitate socialization and problem solving.

Each child in our Preschool program experiences daily everything our older students enjoy.  Specialty classes in music, physical education, Spanish, Science, art and library are integrated into the curriculum, enriching and deepening each child’s preschool experience.

Students move into our primary grades with a strong sense of self in relation to others and the world around them – creating leaders in the classroom and leaders of the future.  Many aspects of our Preschool program contribute to the creation of a caring community that makes Rohan Woods School such a special place.
